We provide higher education for students from rural areas so that they can become agents of development in their communities.
Fundación SOLYDES supports students from low-income families to complete their university education, helping to improve their quality of life and reduce the university drop-out rate in rural communities where the Unidades Académicas Campesinas (UACs) are located.
Every year, the Foundation awards about 45 full scholarships so that the most promising students in these schools can complete their studies without financial difficulties.

The UACs are higher education institutions in rural and peri-urban areas that provide students with knowledge, skills, attitudes and competences related to community development in their area.
These non-profit institutions have education facilities in Carmen Pampa, Tiahuanacu, Pucarani, Batallas and Escoma and branches in marginal areas of El Alto. They are dedicated to research, teaching, learning and knowledge-building, abiding by the principles and methods in each professional discipline.
To date, Fundación SOLYDES has awarded 213 full scholarships to students in the UACs, thus making an effective contribution to solving rural problems and improving the quality of life in rural communities.
The students who benefited from this program are now working in local government and the private sector or running their own local businesses. (75% of the scholarship holders are women)
