Based on our conviction that cultural activities are also part of human development, Fundación SOLYDES supports various artistic activities and cultural projects.

Over the years, we have provided support and encouragement for several cultural initiatives and activities, including the following:

Music

Reencounter with the Bolivian Music for Piano of the XIX Century

Mariana Alandia Navajas is a Bolivian pianist of classical and contemporary music, who interprets almost all the Bolivian composers of written tradition, born in the 20th century. Together with Javier Parrado, he has carried out research on Bolivian music with a written tradition and created in the 19th century, compiling archive works. According to research, Bolivian music from the 19th century currently has more than 1,000 works.

Cultural Platform

Manzana 1

It is a non-profit art gallery voluntarily run by a painter (Ejti Stih) and a sculptor (Juan Bustillos). Different artistic expressions are exhibited in the gallery: painting, sculpture, photography, installations, graphic design, applied arts, etc. as well as thematic exhibitions (carnival, theater, children, folklore, history, blind people, photojournalism, etc). In 2022, Solydes supported Manzana 1 with an event of great exhibition and educational magnitude due to the weight of its international guests and the repercussion in the Bolivian cultural sphere, the Manzana 1 International Photo-Festival.

Santa Cruz de la Sierra Philharmonic Orchestra

The Santa Cruz de la Sierra Philharmonic Orchestra has been performing for six years. Over that time, its 150 musicians have completed 16 concert cycles, reaching live audiences totaling more than 65,000 people. Artistic development and democratization of the arts are the principles that underpin the Philharmonic Orchestra's inspirational, transcendent and transformative work.

Cultural Heritage

Bolivia Viste Santa Ana

An income-generating initiative that builds on the cultural heritage left by the Jesuit missionaries in Bolivia’s Chiquitos region through the crafts produced by women in the community of Santa Ana de Velasco. In 2020 a pilot project with the Santo Corazón Jesuit Mission that worked to conserve indigenous craft production enabled three women to complete their training in weaving. The project in Santa Ana de Velasco has trained 15 weavers.

José Andrés Navarro Piano Recital

José Andrés Navarro Silberstein is a pianist who performs at many venues and festivals in Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and the Netherlands. In recent years he has given recitals at important concert halls, from the “Alberto Saavedra Pérez” Municipal Theater in La Paz to the famous “Musikverein” in Vienna.

Bolivia Clásica

A Bolivian non-profit organization that trains musicians and promotes the whole repertoire of classical music in all its genres, varieties and diversity, as well as all of Bolivia’s own musical traditions.

Casa Melchor Pinto

A non-profit foundation that provides a space for both new and established artists in every branch of the arts: exhibitions of paintings, photography and sculpture, dance performances, film screenings, concerts, literature workshops, art workshops, etc. It is a space for Bolivian artists to connect with their audience, who may be children, young people or adults.

Theater

Santa Cruz de la Sierra International Theater Festival - FITCRUZ

Every other year, Asociación Pro Arte y Cultura - APAC organizes the Santa Cruz de la Sierra International Theater Festival, which has become the country’s largest theater event. Its aim is to bring theater closer to the public. It takes performances to the city’s most remote neighborhoods and provinces in the Department of Santa Cruz, under the slogan “Multiplying Views”.

Music

International Festival of American Renaissance and Baroque Music

With the aim of recovering the music stored in the archives in the Jesuit Missions of Chiquitos and Moxos and bringing it back to the Bolivian and world stage, together with the church liturgies (the setting in which this music originated), APAC has been organizing the “Misiones de Chiquitos International Festival of American Renaissance and Baroque Music” since 1996. The festival has become the country’s most important and significant cultural event.
